1. Mission
MAY believe there is no such thing as the most sustainable design, only a more sustainable design. The team at MAY tries to make the brand more sustainable season by season, both within material and production and in design.
2. Sustainable materials
1. Deadstock waste fabric from Hong Kong & Japan mills.
2. RWS (responsible wool stardand) wool from Consinee. RWS farmers and ranchers must meet animal welfare, land management, and social requirements.
3. Recycle-nylon & BCI cotton from Consinee.
3. Ethical standards
The team works with 2 garment manufacturers in Shenzhen, China. They have rich experience with big fashion houses and are members of Sedex and BSCI. They focus on minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainability in the supply chain.
4. Location & logistics
All MAY designs are made in Hong Kong, sampled and produced in Shenzhen, a border city to Hong Kong.
5. Responsible packaging
All package materials are plastic-free. Foil papers are the primary packaging material.
6. Improvement goals
MAY's goals:
- Include more upcycle material (2nd hand garment)
- Include more sustainable non-synthetic material
- Find a plastic-free & recyclable packaging solution
